Landco to transform Calatagan into a tourism estate
Landco Pacific Corporation is set to begin construction of a 92-hectare integrated residential and tourism estate in Calatagan, Batangas this year.
A first of its kind in the country, the development will feature exclusive seaside home lots, hotel, a commercial center with retail, dining and entertainment outlets, apartment and condominium buildings and recreational structures to draw Metro Manila tourists to Calatagan.
Landco envisions to transform Calatagan into a major tourist town offering varied nature-based attractions and activities. Only two and a half hours away from southern Manila, Calatagan is a viable tourist destination for local and foreign tourists with its reasonable cost and proximity to Metro Manila.
Calatagan already boasts of white sand beaches, historical landmarks, a world-class championship golf course and eco-tourism sites. Landco proposes to complement these existing attractions beginning with a masterplanned tourist hub integrating residential and tourism projects that will serve as a base from which to enjoy Calatagan’s various attractions. A coral regeneration program will also be undertaken by Landco to position the town as a diving spot.
Vice President and SBU Head for Residential Resorts Pat Villano said that unlike other resort developments, the project is centered around the locale and not just on an individual resort.
He also said that Landco’s investment in Calatagan’s tourism would help spur development in the area by creating jobs for residents, establishing linkages with public and private entities and showcasing local products and trades.
He added that Landco is committed to realizing the area’s tourism, recreational and economic potentials.
This tourism estate project is a product of Landco’s experience and learnings in leisure and recreation gained from its earlier pioneering concepts Peninsula and Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Leisure Farms and Ponderosa Leisure Farms.
